In the 2018 assembly elections, he contested on behalf of the Congress party, and he won the election with 73,565 votes, which is 52 percent of the total vote percentage. While his rival, Naval Kishore Meena, got 35143 votes. In the 2018 assembly elections, he won by 38,513 votes and became an MLA.

Indira Meena was born on October 31, 1987, in Bamanwas Tehsil of Sawai Madhopur. His father's name is Shri Jagdish Prasad Meena.
