GDS NEW Vacancy 2023: What is this vacancy?

Let us tell you that, according to the notification issued by the Indian Postal Department in May, the Postal Department has recruited 12827 posts. For which the qualification has been kept as a 10th pass. which you can apply by visiting the official website of the department, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. In this, the salary for BPM has been kept at 12000₹–29,380₹. The salary for ABPM has been kept at 10000₹–24,470₹.


 

What is GDS?

The full form of GDS is Gramin Dak Sevak (Gramin Dak Sevak), or Postmaster. Which comes under the Indian Postal Department. where recruitment has been done for two posts: ABPM and BPM. where ABPM means Assistant Branch Postmaster and BPM means Branch Postmaster. For whatever recruitment is done under GDS, one should either have a 10th pass or a 12th pass.


 
What is ABPM & BPM?

ABPM and BPM are two posts under the Indian Postal Department. The full form of ABPM is Assistant Branch Postmaster, and the full form of BPM is Branch Postmaster. This time, the Indian Rural Postal Department has issued recruitment for 12827 posts on these two posts. The salary for Branch Postmaster (BPM) has been fixed at 12000₹–29,380₹. And the salary for ABPM has been fixed at $10,000–$24,470.

The starting salary, i.e., the official salary for ABPM, will be ₹ 10000, but after adding some extra allowance, the salary will be between ₹ 10000 and ₹ 24,470. The same rules have been set for BPM as well.

What are the qualifications to apply?

Like last time, this time also the Indian Rural Postal Department has kept 10th grade as the qualification to apply for these posts. It is not necessary to know how many marks you have. To apply for these posts, your age has been kept at a minimum of 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years.



 
What is the age relaxation?

To apply for these posts, the minimum age has been kept at 18 years, and the maximum age has been kept at 40 years. But according to the notification issued by the department, age relaxation has been given in various categories. Which is as follows:

What does ABPM and BPM have to do?

Rule number 4 of the recruitment notification. I have given detailed information about it. In which it is clearly stated what the postmaster working on ABPM and BPM posts has to do.

 

Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) - According to the notification, the job profile of ABPM is like this.

(a) Sale of postage stamps and stationery, transportation, and delivery of mail Exchange mail with the doorstep, account office, etc. Deposits, payments, and other transactions of IPPB.

(b) To assist the BPM in postal operations in the manner prescribed by the Department.

(c) marketing and promotion of the products and services provided by the department. Operation of various services in the department and customer service. Department Center (CSC), etc.

(d) The ABPM may also be required to perform joint duties with the BPM in addition to his regular duties when ordered in the event of the non-availability of the BPM.

(e) Any other work assigned by senior officers, like IPO/ASPO/SPO/SSPO, etc.


 

Branch Postmaster (BPM) - The job profile of BPM is slightly different as compared to ABPM. Because this is a work of some responsibility.

(a) Branch Post Office (B.O.) and day-to-day postal operations of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in the manner prescribed from time to time.

(b) Marketing and promotion of the products and services being provided by the department and operation of various services in the customer service 'centers of the department (CSC), etc.

(c) Apart from being single-handed in B.O., i.e., branch office, BPM may be assisted by ABPM(s). However, BPM will need to perform joint tasks. ABPM(s) as and when ordered or in case of non-availability of ABPM(s). Any other work may also be assigned by superiors like the mail overseer (MO), inspector post (IPO), assistant superintendent of posts (ASPO), superintendent of post offices (SPO), senior superintendent of post office (SSPO), etc.

 

(d) Residence/Accommodation: The applicant selected as GDS BPM will have to provide accommodation to the Branch Post Office after selection but before engagement. Details of accommodation, along with a declaration to this effect, are to be submitted before the engagement. Thus, the selected applicant will be required to reside in the post village (the village in which the BO is working) only. Accommodation

This should meet the standards prescribed by this Directorate letter No. 17-02/2018-GDS dated March 8, 2019, as amended from time to time.


 
What documents will be required?

In the notification issued by the Indian Postal Department, it has been clearly stated that for the document, you should have your 10th mark sheet, and along with it, you should have a passport-size photograph. Which is clearly visible. And the signature on your white page. Please note that your photo should not be taken before the start date of the form. If there is an error, your form may be rejected.

Step 1. To apply online for the form, you have to search the website of indiapostgdsonline.gov.in in your browser. After this, you have to open the site by clicking on the first link. You can also visit the site by clicking on the image.

If you had filled out the form for the previous vacancy, then there is no need for you to register. But if you are applying for the GDS form for the first time, then you will have to register first.


 

Step 2. If you already have a registration number, then you have to click on Stage 2. After that, you have to enter your registration number. Select the circle for which you want to apply. It is not necessary that if you are from Rajasthan, you can apply only for Rajasthan.

Step 3. After this, you have to click submit. After this, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number; you have to enter that OTP. After that, enter the captcha code and next the application.

Step 4. After pressing Next, your details will automatically appear in front of you, which will be taken from your registration. After this, you have to enter your address. Keep in mind that you should not make any mistakes while entering the address. If your communication and permanent address are the same, then click on Check ✅.

Step 5. After this, fill in all the information related to your qualification correctly, including which year you passed 10th, the name of the board, etc. And in the result type, you have to choose the option of marks. After this, you have to enter your marks, subject-wise. After this, you have to save and continue.

Step 6: After this you have to select your division (district). In which you want to get your GDS job.

Step 7: After choosing the division, you will get how many posts there are in that district according to your category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD). In which you have to choose only that post that is above your category. Keep in mind that you do not have to choose posts from other categories based on your preference. You put 1 in front of the post that you want to keep at 1 in your category. Similarly, 2 has to be placed in front of the second post.

Step 8: After this, you have to submit your application. And take a printout of it and keep it. Form fees are waived for some categories. But if your category asks for fees, then you have to pay the fees and print your application.
