And since then, the Phogat sisters were started practicing wrestling by their father, Mahavir Singh Phogat, who was the coach of his daughters. And today, because of this desire of her father and his daughters, she has made her own identity in the whole world.
Babita Phogat's family consists of her parents, her three sisters (Geeta Phogat, Sangeeta Phogat, and Ritu Phogat), and her younger brother Dushyant Phogat. Let us tell you that Mahavir's father, Mansingh, has also done wrestling, and inspired by his father's life, Mahavir Singh Phogat took up the field of wrestling. In the Asian Wrestling Championship tournament held in Delhi in 2013, he defeated Han Kum-ok of North Korea in 55 kg freestyle wrestling.
The year 2014 was a new dimension for her achievement; she defeated her rival Kathryn Marsh of Scotland 4:1 in the 55 kg freestyle wrestling at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She defeated Louisa Porogowska of England to enter the semi-finals, then defeated Brittany Laverdure of Canada, winning 3:1, and won the gold medal. Babita could not repeat her victory in the 2014 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship. She could only win the bronze medal in this competition.
